Wind farm Willem-Annapolder is a joint venture between cooperative Zeeuwind, a local private investor and Triodos Energy Transition Europe Fund. Triodos Energy Transition Europe Fund has been a shareholder since 2007 and intensified its partnership through an increased equity stake in 2016. Willem-Annapolder is part of a joint repowering project with two nearby windfarms with the aim of generating five times more renewable electricity with eight instead of twelve wind turbines. This will be sufficient to meet the annual electricity use of 28,000 to 35,000 households in the municipalities of Kapelle, 's-Gravenpolder and Hansweert. As part of this project, local inhabitants are able to participate in a wind fund set up by Zeeuwind. Zeeuwind has more than 2,800 members and since 1987, has grown into one of the largest energy cooperatives in the Netherlands.
