We increase our investments in Nature-based Solutions: sustainable forestry, rewilding and nature conservation projects and regenerative organic agriculture – removing carbon from the atmosphere and supporting biodiversity and local communities.
By catalysing, developing and selecting projects with multiple positive impacts (climate, resilience, biodiversity, community livelihoods, health & wellbeing) we can help address multiple challenges while also making progress on our net zero goals. By integrating regenerative practices we will help farming clients to reduce and sequester emissions on agricultural land.
In the UK we have already helped catalyse the creation and investment of new business models to support the restoration and conservation of nature. Whether it is peatland, wetlands, grasslands, or forests, there is huge potential to recognise the multiple impacts that each project can deliver whilst sequestering atmospheric emissions.
We are working on setting up a dedicated blended finance fund to finance sustainable forestry, nature conservation & restoration and smallholder agroforestry in Africa and Latin America.
