We invest in companies that are already well aligned with our vision, or companies that display a clear commitment to becoming more sustainable, but also in smaller, innovative actors that push the business ecosystem in the right direction with their solutions.
We look for companies with relevant activities, such as:
- Affordable housing and cohousing
- Businesses and activities fostering inclusion in the job market
- Financial inclusion
- Third sector initiatives
- Initiatives on shared and collective ownership
- Products and services with inclusive design
Public equities and bonds
Our Impact Equities and Bond funds invest in listed companies that contribute to this transition. Examples include Agence Française de Développement, Millicom and Strategic Education.
Private debt and equity
Our Private Debt and Equity funds offer a range of financial instruments to businesses that contribute to thriving communities.
First and foremost our Financial Inclusion funds: Triodos Microfinance Fund and Triodos Fair Share Fund. They provide debt and equity investments to financial institutions in emerging and developing markets that empower people and small businesses. Access to finance helps households and entrepreneurs generate income, manage their cash flow, build assets and strengthen their resilience to setbacks. And its wider impact can go much further, leading to other than economic improvements, from clean water, food security and healthcare to education and the status of women in society. Financial inclusion investment examples: Liwwa in Jordan, la Hipotecaria in El Salvador and Small Enterprise Foundation in South Africa.
Triodos Groenfonds finances affordable housing in the Netherlands, such as Studentenhuisvesting Leeuwarden.
